Gado 2 Beta kits are now available for pre-order; new orders have a 3-4 week lead time. The Gado kit includes everything you need to build your own Gado 2 archival scanning robot, including:
- Plastic 3D-printed components
- All required circuit boards, electronic parts, etc.
- An IPEVO document camera for capturing medium-res images of the backs of your materials
- Detailed build instructions
Just add your own Windows computer and WIA-compatible scanner.
To date, the Gado 2 has been tested on flat photographs, but it’s an open source machine; you’re welcome to test it on whatever you want and modify the device and software to fit your needs. Of course, use/modification is at your own risk.
Thanks to generous support from the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance, we are able to offer our first ten kits at-cost for $500 (with $25 additional for payment processing and $25 for domestic US shipping).
